News: Where the Streets are Paved with Chocolate

October 28 is National Chocolate Day. Our own Valerie Gordon is L.A.'s best sweets baker, confectioner, and all-around chocolate guru. Now, for the first time ever, Grand Central Market visitors will be the beneficiary of this nearly cosmic choco-convergence.

To celebrate the day, Valerie at GCM has rolled out a special menu of heavenly chocolate specials: 

Gluten-free chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and whipped cream (pictured)

Chocolate muffins

Chocolate pudding with creme fraiche whipped cream

Durango bark (chocolate slabs studded with roasted almonds & hickory-smoked salt)

Durango cookies

Dark chocolate caramels with pumpkin seed and smoked paprika

Milk chocolate caramels with fleur de sel

Chocolate stout loaf ("stout" as in the dark, rich, chocolatey beer)

Chocolate bread pudding

Milk chocolate tart with bitter chocolate glaze

Hot chocolate.

And, as if that weren't enough, Valerie will be sampling some of her famous chocolate truffles throughout the day, and, as always, lunch customers get a free chocolate chip cookie with their meal.
