How eager is DTLA for Eggslut to open? Oh, on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd put the anticipation level right up there around the mid-double digits, if you know what I mean. People have been tweeting at Alvin and Jeff. People have been calling our Information Desk for more information. Some people have been standing in front of the stall and drumming their fingers on the glossy black countertop. At any rate I have been doing that. 

So here's the news: Alvin, Jeff, and their team have been in the kitchen prepping, testing, tasting, and photographing. They are close to ready but won't open until they are ready-ready. When will that be? Yesterday they said they might serve a few things today as a super-soft opening. Today it looks like there might be something to sample on Thursdays. No one is more eager than I, because Alvin said that I can be the first offical, paying customer. I can hardly contain my eggscitement.

And now I promise never to post another egg pun—eggsxactly what you were thinking, I know.
