Fourth Annual Holiday Marketplace
December 03, 2017

Grand Central Market will kick off the holiday season Saturday, December 2nd and Sunday, December 3rd with the iconic food hall’s Fourth Annual Holiday Marketplace featuring a pop-up village of local artisans and purveyors.

From 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., retail and culinary pop-ups will transform the Market's Hill Street platform into a festive emporium for gracious holiday gift shopping. Pop-up participants include Birch & Bone, Brown Bag Books, Ink+Smog Editions, Los Angeles County Store, MADE by DWC, M. Greenwood Jams, Morning Glory Confections, Paper Pastries, Spread the Love: Peanut Butter, Sweet Oak Bakery, YA Living and Yoko Kanayama and Jennifer Cheung Ceramics.

Grand Central Market eateries will join in the festivities with delicacies of the season such as tamales from Chiles Secos; beef ribs smoked for 18 hours from Horse Thief BBQ; "Giorno di Lagro" holiday pizza with fennel spice shrimp, fire roasted vegestables, spicy tomato sauce and three cheese blend at Olio; holiday on a hoagie sandwich at Belcampo, butternut winter clam chowder from Prawn; turkey melt with fig jam at Golden Road; seasonal cheese plates at DTLA; and fruitcake, Christmas jam, seasonal chocolates and large cups of hot chocolate from Valerie Confections Bakery & Cafe.

A hit feature of last year’s Marketplace returns in 2017 with Birch and Bone’s wreath- making pop-up with trendsetting floral artist Amelia Posada. Posada will be on hand to create Instagram-worthy wreaths that shoppers can customize with elements such as succulents, moss, feathers and antlers. Posada will also debut her new line of Birch and Bone home décor items including vases, candles and incense with 24k gold flakes.

Throughout the day, the Market will also play host to a number of special musical guests including Mexican bolero trio Tres Souls , Afro-Cuban dance music ensemble Sitara Son , swing band The HiFi Honeydrops , steel drumming, a klezmer band and carolers.

Last but not least, on both Saturday and Sunday the Market will host a meet-and-greet with Santa Claus from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. and ornament making with Little Junebugs from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and holiday face-painting on Sunday from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
