DAVID ASHER BOOK TALK + SIGNING WITH DTLA CHEESE
January 28, 2016

David Asher

JANUARY, 28th

6PM at DTLA Cheese

Celebrate the glory of cheese on Thursday, January 28th at 6PM with celebrated cheesemaker David Asher, author of The Art of Natural Cheesemaking, for a book talk and signing at DTLA Cheese. His book shows how to go beyond standard industrial cheesemaking practices giving the reader step-by-step tools needed to practice a cheesemaking method that is natural, DIY and well suited to the home kitchen. An organic farmer, farmstead cheesemaker and educator at his Black Sheep School of Cheesemaking located in British Columbia, David will discuss how diverse cheeses are related and how they can evolve from an organically inspired cheesemaking philosophy. David will also demonstrate how to make a few simple fermented dairy items such as kefir, creme fraiche and cultured butter. A selection of cheeses and wine will be served, and books will be available for sale, signed by the author. Come be a guerrilla cheese-maker!
