Daniel Rotem began playing tenor saxophone at the age of 13. He studied at Thelma Yellin High School, the Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music in Tel Aviv and Berklee College of Music. Shortly after graduating Berklee, Daniel was one out of seven selected to study for two years as a member of the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance Masters Program Class of 2016 at UCLA, Herb Alpert School of Music.
While at the Institute, Daniel performed in Paris, went on a U.S. State Department Tour to Morocco, performed at the Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl with Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter, at the Kennedy Center with Al Jarreau and Dee Dee Bridgewater, and had the privilege to lead and narrate a jazz history masterclass and performance at the White House, hosted by the First Lady Mrs. Michelle Obama.
His talents have since been enjoyed in venues around the U.S. and internationally with artists such as Lionel Loueke, Jeremy Pelt, Terri Lyne Carrington, Lewis Nash and many more!
