Preview screening of the Filipino food documentary, ULAM
May 20, 2017

Million Dollar Theatre | Saturday, May 20 | 5 p.m.

AMBOY and Grand Central Market present ULAM (Main Dish) — a Filipino food documentary following the rise of the Filipino food movement via the chefs crossing over to the center of the American table.

Los Angeles Times’ Jonathan Gold will host a panel with the director Alexandra Cuerdo and chefs from the film, such as Alvin Cailan and the Valencia brothers, along with other Filipino chefs aiming to make a difference in the Filipino food movement. This special screening is part of the Los Angeles Times Food Bowl, the month-long festival celebrating the city's dynamic and influential food scene.

In conjunction with the ULAM screening, the Market will celebrate the eclectic mixture of flavors and ingredients of this vibrant cuisine. Guest chefs from the Filipino culinary scene will have pops-up or team up with Market chefs to offer visitors an exciting taste of favorite street foods, regional dishes and new creations inspired by traditional Filipino recipes.

General admission screening tickets are $10.  Click here to purchase yours now!

The Million Dollar Theatre is located at  307 S. Broadway -- next door to Grand Central Market.
