Downtown's reimagined Grand Central Market has drawn crowds for breakfast (Egg Slut's breakfast sandwiches, G&B coffee, Wexler's bagels with lox ... ), but it until now had closed every day at 6 p.m.
With so many new vendors -- 12 food and beverage stalls in the last year -- the open-air market between Broadway and Hill has announced that it will be open until 9 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, starting July 3.
“The extended dinner hours will allow downtown residents, workers and visitors to enjoy the market’s myriad offerings into the evening. The change is just another way the Market is adapting and catering to the vibrant DTLA crowd,” market owner Adele Yellin said in a statement.
Earlier this year, Grand Central Market started opening earlier -- at 8 a.m. instead of 9 a.m., with some vendors serving as early as 7 in the morning.
Also, Belcampo Meat Co., Olio GCM Wood Fired Pizzeria and Horse Thief BBQ recently have added beer and wine lists.
To celebrate the debut of dinner hours, the market said, dublab DJs will spin from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the first later evenings, July 3-5.
